Holi

I have wanted to go to Holi for a few years now, but in each previous year, it seemed that something always came up and I was never able to go. Luckily this year, I finally was able to go!

"Holi (होली), is a spring religious festival celebrated by Hindus. The main day, Holi, also known as Dhuli Vandana in Sanskrit, also Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi, is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other."

It is held at the Krishna temple in Spanish Fork and was so fun! The event it's self is free, and you can buy colors in packs with prices ranging from $2 to $12. Parking is free, but it's (usually) hard to find close parking. Being lazy we parked at a park and ride they had set up. It was $2 per person for round trip to get a ride to the temple.

I openly admit I was not brave enough to bring my "big" camera. So I brought my little point and shoot, and we also bought a disposable camera.

It started getting really cold and slightly windy so we went home.

At home, we took some pictures with my "nice" camera.

So fun! When we were there I thought of how fun it would have been to bring Tate and Chloe! Next year we will have to for sure!

I still have fairly pink nail beds.... But all in all it was very fun!

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Dang! I wouldn't have dared bring my nice camera either! That creepy guy is TOTALLY creepy; is he wearing a mask? Looks like a blast! Oh, and what an adorable picture of Michelle!
