Eating Local

We have recently found a few cute and yummy places that you will want to check out, one in AF and one in PG. They are ran by sisters, twins! The one in PG is not new and has been around for a while. They have now been on the show Cupcake Wars twice. They didn't win the first time around but they did win the second time around, the episode of which aired just this evening! I had heard a lot about their lovely cupcakes. On Saturday I had some time to kill before Dave off work and remembered the cupcake place was near by so I decided to pick up a few. I bought two flavors, Better Then What - which had rich chocolate cake filled with a home made caramel sauce, topped with a vanilla cream frosting and homemade toffee pieces. It was just as decadent as it sounds. And Coconut Tres Leches. I only planned on getting one, but when I saw the Coconut Tres Leches - A vanilla cupcake filled with three different milks including coconut milk topped off with a whipped frosting and sprinkled with toasted coconut, I knew I had to get it for Dave who loves Tres Leches. Both cupcakes were incredible and I have been craving more ever since! On the hunt for copy cat recipes I go! I'll let you know what I find!

A couple weeks before we went to the Cravings Bistro, opened more recently, and all about grilled cheese sandwiches and soups, so yummy! I got their TBA and Dave got a tomato and basil sandwich. We also got their cheesy potato soup and their creamy tomato basil, both were amazing!
