Exploring San Antonio

Early last year San Antonio opened a new park on the south side of town, Confluence Park. This past Presidents day we decided to check it out for the first time. There was a bit of chilly breeze, but otherwise it was a sunny beautiful day. There was plenty of open free parking, we just about had the park to ourselves.

The architecture was so cool! There were lots of signs around the park explaining the purpose for the sculptures and information on the vegetation in the area. Things are only just barely starting to grow, so I can't wait to return to see the beautiful plants that bloom as we get into warmer weather.

The convergence of San Antonio River and San Pedro Creek run right by the park where you can also access the river trail. We walked for a little but the cold wind was a little too persistent. Bikes were available for rent at the park and we would love to make a return trip to bike along the paths there!

It is so cool seeing the growth and improvements made to this city and I am excited to see what changes are made in the coming years!

We drove around a little more, exploring areas we had never been, but ended up over by my favorite place, Pearsall Park. We started walking the trails there and I was so surprised to see bluebonnets popping up! We have still been having a few days of cold weather, so I hope these early bluebonnets survive!

Rex, always so reluctant to pose for pictures, hahaha

Can't wait to enjoy more of this lovely weather as it starts to warm up!
