So one of my New Years Resolutions was redecorating my bedroom. It's not quite there yet, but getting close! I wanted to share some of the decoration projects I have been working on.
My first project was a jewelry holder. I looked around for quite awhile for jewelry holders I thought I would like but I really couldn't find one I was in love with, so I made my own. I had seen this on Pinterest a few times. I bought the vase from Hobby Lobby for about $5 and then wrapped yarn around it, hot gluing it from time to time.
Dave and I went hunting for sticks up the canyon and I spray painted them all white. And that was it! Simple and cheap! I used about two cans of spray paint that I found for $1 each at Walmart.
I also found this project via Pinterst and I was in love with it, but I had the hardest time finding glasses that were not curved. I went to IKEA and found a set of 5 for $6. I only really wanted one or two glasses, but I had looked every where so I just bought the set. We found all the twigs up the canyon, and I just hot glued them to the glasses. I made two, one that I keep stud earrings in and this one that I have the flowers in. It turned out exactly as I had hoped!
And finally, a wall of pictures in the little "hall" leading into our bedroom. As I was hanging them up, in my mind I was thinking "Oh this does not look good." But once I had them all up I was very happy. The little bunch of berries at the top was the perfect touch. I had gone to Hobby Lobby and they had all of their fake flowers 50% off so I bought two of the berries at about $3 each and I bought two hydrangeas at $5 each. Steal!
We are also working on making tree stumps into end tables. Yeah. But we are having a really hard time on getting them to be level. Any one who works with wood please send your tips our way! Because I am dying to see them finished next to my bed!
