This time of the year is when hot chocolate is a must in our house. We love a hot creamy cup of rich hot chocolate. But I have been having a hard time finding one that I am totally in love with. My favorite hot chocolate is from Flour Girls and Dough Boys in AF. It's called mousse hot chocolate and I can not find anything like it, store bought or homemade, so the hunt continues. But I did find this recipe on lovely Pinterest that isn't as good, but I am satisfied with for now =)
Dave loves it and last time I made it he pretty much went through the entire batch all by himself!

All you need;
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
6 cups milk
2 cups chocolate chips (we use dark)
1 teaspoon vanilla
14oz can sweetened condensed milk
Throw it all in your crock pot stirring about every 15 minutes until all the chocolate chips are melted. The original recipe says to have your crock pot on low, but we had our on high because when we had it on low the hot chocolate did not get hot! And I haven't had any problems with it burning or anything. You could also just do this on the stovetop to speed it up.

Another thing I found on Pinterest was making homemade whipped cream, piping it out and freezing it to add to the hot chocolate. All you need is heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla. You can really put in however much sugar and vanilla you want based on the flavor you like. But I did 2 cups heavy cream, 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons vanilla. Whip it (you are lucky if you have a Kitchen Aid) whip it for about 10 minutes. Then just pipe it out on parchment paper and freeze. Once frozen transfer them all to a bag or airtight container and keep in the freezer!
So easy and so yummy!
Yay for fall!
