Holi

I have wanted to go to Holi for a few years now, but in each previous year, it seemed that something always came up and I was never able to go. Luckily this year, I finally was able to go!

"Holi (होली), is a spring religious festival celebrated by Hindus. The main day, Holi, also known as Dhuli Vandana in Sanskrit, also Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi, is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other."

It is held at the Krishna temple in Spanish Fork and was so fun! The event it's self is free, and you can buy colors in packs with prices ranging from $2 to $12. Parking is free, but it's (usually) hard to find close parking. Being lazy we parked at a park and ride they had set up. It was $2 per person for round trip to get a ride to the temple.

I openly admit I was not brave enough to bring my "big" camera. So I brought my little point and shoot, and we also bought a disposable camera.

It started getting really cold and slightly windy so we went home.

So fun! When we were there I thought of how fun it would have been to bring Tate and Chloe! Next year we will have to for sure!

I still have fairly pink nail beds.... But all in all it was very fun!

Happy Tuesday!

Weddings Weddings Weddings!

I am so happy to be all caught up on all of my pictures! I edited both these weddings pretty dang fast too. Yay me! These weddings were a great way to start off the wedding season! I have lots more weddings booked this year and can't wait for the chance to meet and work with all my wonderful clients. If your wedding isn't already on my calendar, it should be!

I have some to die for, adorable spring shoot ideas that I can not wait to get into the making (I am still excited despite the fact that it was snowing, a lot, today). If any one has a rabbit or baby chicks I could Barrow please let me know!!!

But I won't keep you waiting longer, you are here for pictures....

Brad and Julie are the cutest couple and their sealing was wonderfully heart warming.

And I can't forget to mention who absolutely wonderful it was that they got married on a Friday! The Salt Lake temple is truly a stunning place to shoot, but on your usual Saturday you really have to fight for your photo locations. But for Brad and Julie, it was nicely, just them with literally no run ins with any other couples and photographers.

And a few weekends ago Britney and Peter were wed! The weather that day looked a little gloomy, and it actually was raining just a little bit on my drive to the temple, but luckily the rain held off until their Indoor reception!
Britney's dress was so so pretty with such adorable beading throughout the entire thing! And even more amazing, Pete's grandmother made it for her! Stunning!

Italian Nachos

Now these are probably the most unhealthy thing any one could ever consume, but boy, do they taste good.

The meal idea came from the oh so tasty Johnny Carino's. My family use to go there all the time to eat, and they are seriously the best. Although they are kinda pricey, and the closest one is in Sandy, so my mom started making it at home.

Off their menu, you can choose chicken, sausage, or combo, for your meat and it comes with:
pasta chips, black olives, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, jalapeños, alfredo, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

Looking at their menu, it's really not that pricey, but whatever. We put a lot more alfredo and mozzarella on ours, so ours is better.

For the "pasta chips" we use Won Ton wraps. You can find them in the refrigerated produce section (I always buy them at Smiths, so I don't even know if Walmart has them) This package is just under $4 and we can make two (really large) Italian Nacho dinners with it.

Yummy Food

We usually just put chicken, tomatoes, alfredo, mozzarella and "Banana Peppers" on them.

Yummy Food

I can not stand alfredo in a jar, so I make my own. It so easy and a million times more tasty. I use crushed rosemary, about a tablespoon of olive oil, 1 little thing of chopped garlic. I brown the garlic and the rosemary in the olive oil (you could use butter if you wanted to instead) and I use probably about 1/2 cup of heavy cream and just a few handfuls of parmesan cheese to help the sauce thicken up.
Be sure to start the alfredo first as it takes the longest to took.

I bake the won ton wraps. You can fry them, but we prefer to bake them. I just broil them till they are brown. Be sure not to make them too brown because you will be putting it back in the oven to melt the mozzarella.

And... the not so pretty almost finished product:

Yay for a super yummy, super easy, and super unhealthy meal.

Enjoy!

Easy Meals for Lazy People

Married life has made us fattie fattie fatties. Hahaha, ok not that bad, but we do eat really well in our house. So I figured I would share some of our tasty recipes that we live off of.

Tortellini Salad

Yummy Food

My mom use to make this a lot, and I had never made it before, but it's so so easy, and so so yummy. The one pictured above is lacking some of the usual ingredients, but all you need is:
lettuce
tortellini
tomatoes
peas
carrots
yellow peppers
red peppers

And for the sauce:
1/2 cup Mayo
1/4 cup Buttermilk
1/2 cup Pesto

Mix these three things together well. I don't have a glass trifle bowel, but usually you just layer each ingredient, and pour the sauce on top, serve chilled.

The Turducken of Cookies

So a couple weeks ago I discovered this beast of a cookie and I was pretty excited about it. Despite Dave talking about how it was such a "fat kid cookie" I made it. Just two. This picture is from the blog where I first found them, my cookies did not turn out nearly this good at all.

So I bought some double stuff Oreos.

Yummy Food

And made some cookies. The monster ones were huge as you can see below.

And... the finished product.

Honestly, they were nothing amazing... and I doubt I will make them again.... Hahaha
